Lilyvale: Taking the twists and turns along the narrow paths of this intimate plantsman's gardens is rewarded with a large collection of unusual hardy perennials, alpines and mature shrubs. There is a woodland area with rhododendrons and azaleas, a fruit orchard and a vegetable garden to explore. Curling Pond House: The garden is dominated by a large stream fed pond with its resident Moorhens. The banks are planted with colourful late spring flowers, Primula species abound. The garden features the former Shieldhill Castle curling rink, a pergola walk, specimen trees and shrubs and a sweeping perennial border.
Quothquan village can be found between A73 Lanark to Abington Road and the B7016 Carnwath to Biggar Road. The gardens are at opposite ends of the village but will be well signposted.
