The garden is on a steep hillside running along the rocky shore of the Dee Estuary in Kirkcudbright Bay, close to the beach at the Dhoon and three miles from Kirkcudbright.
On the B727 between Kirkcudbright and Borgue on the west shore of the Dee Estuary. Parking at Dhoon beach public car park, about three miles south of Kirkcudbright. There is a five to ten minute walk to the house.
