Newmills Cottage

Newmills Cottage

Surviving mill in a series of 5 built in 1864. Well established colourful garden on different levels sloping down to the burn. The garden is divided into different areas with pots and hanging baskets filling areas which cannot be planted. There is also a pond. Steps down the garden are steep but it can be accessed from a gate on the road if needed and can still be seen from the lower level. The garden has been extended since first opening in 2014 and Patricia has agreed to open once again despite the very wet opening in 2016!

Approach from Roadhead roundabout near Lochwinnoch (junction off A760/A737). Take turning by "Powerdoors" onto Auchengrange Hill. At T junction turn left onto Belltrees Road. Drive for 20 seconds then turn right. Single track road, garden on left after 1 mile.
