A big thank you to all our volunteers

It's Volunteers Week, from the 1st - 7th June and we got a big bunch of wonderful volunteers to thank at Scotland's Gardens Scheme. At the heart of the scheme are our 150 volunteers and our hundreds of garden openers, all of whom devote so much time and enthusiasm into the charity.

Each district has a district organiser, treasurer and a team of volunteers to help with every aspect of a garden opening, from ticketing to billeting flyers, organising plants stalls and teas, to writing press releases and posting on social media, and of course the garden openers who spend so much time getting their gardens ready for the big day.

Volunteers week is an excellent moment to stop and reflect at everything that can be achieved through volunteering. In 2018, Scotland's Gardens Scheme initated their volunteer recognition, volunteers who have served ten and fifteen plus years were awarded a fork or a fork and trowel respectively. It is wonderful to mark the time volunteers have served with Scotland's Gardens Scheme,
