Plants for the pollinators

The bees are buzzing in the trees... or at least they can be, here are some lovely plants than can be found in most Scottish gardens to help encourage bees and other pollinators.

There are lots of plants, well suited to the scottish climate, that you can grow in your garden to encourage pollinators, such as:

  • Lavender
  • Foxgloves
  • Cosmos
  • Cornflower
  • Dahlias
  • Borage
  • Sunflower
  • Sweet peas

What's less known, are the plants that aren't so good for pollintors, such as bees:

  • Rhododendrons and Azaleas
  • Oleander
  • Stargazer Lily
  • Bog rosemary
  • Amaryllis
